토익스피킹 전파트 정리

파트 1) 지문 읽기

준비 시간 45초 내에 지문을 한번 읽어본 뒤 어려운 발음은 여러번 다시 말해본다. 보통 쉼표에선 끝 음을 올리고 마침표에선 끝 음을 내린다.
 
자주 나오는 유형 중 하나인 A, B, and C 와 같은 구조에선 A, B에선 끝 음을 올리고, C에선 내리는 것이다. 억양과 강세 또한 주요 채점 요소 중 하나이다. 
 

파트 2) 사진 묘사 

기본적으로 인물에 대한 묘사는 위치를 정해준 뒤, 입고있는 옷(혹은 앉아있는 상태)과 하고있는 행동을 동시에 말해준다. 
-> 여러가지 방식이 있겠지만 나는 이 탬플릿이 가장 편했다. 특히 중요한 건 하고있는 행동이다. 가장 무의미한 답변 중 하나가 a man is standing, a man is smiling 과 같은 답변이라고 한다.
 
준비 시간 동안 어떤 것에 대해 말할지 한국어, 영어를 섞어 간단하게 적어둔다.
 

● 1인 묘사

This picture was taken at a library. (장소가 확실하지 않을 땐 I think this picture was taken at a library.)
On the left / On the right / In the middle, a man wearing a blue shirt is working on his laptop. 
In front of him / behind him, There is a table.
On the table, I can see some documents and a cup. 
In the background, There are big windows and a sofa
 
-> 1인 묘사의 경우 주변 사물에 대해 얘기할 것들이 많을 것이다. 먼저 보이는 인물에 대한 설명은 주요한 문장으로 간단하게 처리한 뒤 주변 사물과 배경까지 설명하는 게 좋은 것 같다.
 

● 2인 묘사

This picture was taken in an office.
On the left, a man wearing a suit is sitting at a table. 
Next to him / On the right, a woman wearing casual clothes is giving a presentation.
They are wearing glasses (공통점 있으면 찾아서 말하기)
On the right / In the background / In front of them / Behind them, There are N, N. (이후엔 배경과 기타 사물 말하기)
 

● 다수 묘사

This picture was taken on the street.
On the right, a woman wearing a black jumper is playing the violin. (가장 눈에 띄는 인물을 먼저 말하기)
On the left, another woman with long hair is watching the performance. (다음으로 눈에 띄는 인물)
In the background, i can see some buildings and a lot of people walking on the street. (배경 묘사)
 
혹은 애매하게 3~4명의 인물이 나왔을 경우
 
This picture was taken at a restaurant.
In the middle, a man wearing a uniform is serving some food.
In the foreground, there are three women sitting at a table. (바로바로 인물을 찝어 말해줘도 되지만 이렇게 애매한 수의 인물들이 나왔을 땐 한번 묶어줘도 된다. 이후, One of them, All of them, Rest of them 등으로 말한다.)
One of them is looking at the man. 
In front of her, there are some glasses. 
On the right, i can see a woman wearing a t-shirt is holding a glass. 
(사진에 나와있는 모든 인물을 묘사할 필요는 없다. 너무 다 말하려고 집착하지 말자.)
 

파트 3) 질문에 답하기

해당 파트는 준비시간이 3초, 답변시간은 15초/30초로 탬플릿보단, 만능 문장 + 순발력이 중요한 파트이다. 모의고사로 최대한 많이 겪어보는 걸 추천하고, 내가 가장 유용하게 썼던 문장을 일부 소개하고 넘어가려 한다. 
 
It relives my stress. I'm stressed out these days. So, i need this.
It's chaper, so i can save money.
It's faster, so i can save time.
I can get a lot of useful information from my freinds / from books / On the internet.
It's more reliable, so the information is more trustworthy.
It makes me happy, and i forget about my worries.
It has great facilities.
It's a well-liked place, so people love it.
I'm a student, so my budget is tight.
I don't want to waste too much money / time on that.
It's a waste of money / time.
It's more fun and entertaining. so i don't get bored.
I think it's more fun to do things in a group.
I can meet new people and make freinds.
I can meet new poeple and expand my network.
I can broaden my perspective.
I feel more comfortable and i can focus better.
They provide a happy environment and pleasant experience.
It has sentimental value.
I like to try new things.
It's part of my routine.
It's very convinient and useful.

파트 4) 표를 보고 질문에 답하기

해당 파트도 많이 풀어보는 것을 추천한다. 익숙해지기만 한다면 파트 1다음으로 가장 쉬운 파트이다. 우선 날짜, 시간 등을 읽는 방법을 숙지하고, 일정표, 이력서, 시간표 등의 주어진 표에서 어떻게 말해야하는지 파악하면 된다. 빈출 문장은 종류도 많고 해보면서 익숙해지는 게 낫다 판단해 굳이 적진 않겠다. 밑은 유의할 발음이다.
 
5th -> Fifth [fɪfθ] 핖-th
20th -> twentieth [twentiəθ] 투-웨-니-어-th
30th -> thirtieth  [|θɜːrtiəθ] thㅓ-리-어-th
(th 발음들은 다 짧게 끊는다.)
 
January -> 제-뉴-에-뤼
February -> 페-bru-에-뤼
April -> 에-이-프-럴
 

파트 5) 의견 말하기

파트 5는 토익스피킹의 꽃이라고도 할 수 있는 파트로, 배점이 가장 높다. 그만큼 준비 시간도 45초, 답변 시간도 60초로 가장 길다. 기본적인 탬플릿은 다음과 같다. 45초 동안 OMR 카드의 뒷면에 다음 탬플릿의 구조를 작성하면 된다. 
 
(주장) - 문제 참고해서 한가지 선택 후 대답
(L) - Let me explain why i think this way. (암기)
(M) - Most of all, + ~~ + because/so/if ~~ + Then/Otherwise ~~
(A) - Also, + ~~ + because/so/if ~~ + Then/Otherwise ~~
(T) - Therefore, as i mentioned above (암기)  + 첫 주장 간결하게 다시 말하기
(이후 45초간 노트테이킹할 땐  M,A 부분만 영+한 편하게 섞어 간결하게 작성한다) 
 
예를 들자면,

(주장) - In my city, Hiring more teachers is most necessary to help young students study at school
(L) - Let me explain why i think this way.
(M) - Most of all, there are not enough teachers in my city. so, Hiring more teachers is very beneficial. Then, it will improve the quality of education in my city.
(A) - Also, Teachers are very influential on students. if we have more teachers, it would be very helpful for students. Then, Students can focus on their studies better.
(T) - Therefore, as i mentioned above, hiring more teachers is the most important thing.
 
말하는 도중 시간이 남지 않는다면 Therefore 부분을 생략하면 될 것 같다.
또, then, so, if 부분은 아주 자연스럽게, 이렇게 된다면 어떻게 될까. 이렇게 되지 않는다면 어떻게 될까라는 식의 생각으로 편하게 작성하면 된다고 한다.
 
(우리 지역에 교사가 많이 없다 -> 교사를 많이 고용하면 매우 이로울 것이다. -> 그러면 우리 지역의 교육 수준이 높아질 것이다.)
(선생님들은 학생들에게 매우 영향력이 있다 -> 만약 교사를 많이 고용하면? -> 학생들에게 도움이 된다 -> 그러면 학생들은 본인의 공부에 더 집중할 수 있게 된다.)
 
Most of all / Also 뒤의 문장은 쓸 수 있는 만능 문장이 있다면 만능 문장으로 해결하는 게 제일 낫다. 45초의 시간이 길어보이지만, 실전에선 상당히 짧다.. 혹은 그 뒤의 이유 문장이 만능 문장이어야 편하다.
 
 
 
 
 
한가지 팁이 있다면 외운 문장들을 너무 빠르게 말하지 않는 것이다. 외운 문장들을 빠르게 말하다가 즉흥적으로 말할 때 속도가 갑자기 느려진다면 해당 문장만 외웠다는 티가 너무 강하게 날 수 있기에, 아무리 외운 문장이어도 천천히 말하면서 뒷 문장을 생각하도록 하자.
 
모의고사 해설 강의를 보며 나는 왜 저렇게 답변을 못할까. 라면서 자책하지 말자. 또한, 모범 답안을 억지로 따라가려고 하지 말자. 결국 단기간에 내가 쓸 수 있는 어휘나 단어는 한정되어 있고, 그 안에서만 논리적으로 말한다면 충분한 점수를 노릴 수 있다.
